Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions about working together? I’ve compiled answers to the most common questions I receive about my bookkeeping services, experience, and pricing. If you don't see what you're looking for, feel free to reach out.
1. What types of businesses do you work with?
I work with businesses in every industry. My experience spans manufacturing, full-service and quick-service restaurants, digital media, advertising, law firms, medical practices, real estate, and short-term rentals, from mid-size businesses to large companies with multimillion-dollar revenue.
2. What bookkeeping services do you offer?
My full-service bookkeeping covers transaction recording, bank and credit card reconciliations, month-end close, and financial statements. Accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll are available as add-on services. You can hand off the entire function or only the pieces you need.
3. How is a bookkeeper different from an accountant or CPA?
A bookkeeper keeps your financial records accurate and current throughout the year. A CPA typically uses those records to prepare your tax returns and provide tax advice. Clean books make your CPA's work faster and often less expensive.
4. Do you work remotely or on-site?
I work remotely through secure cloud software, which lets me serve clients anywhere. On-site visits are available for local clients when needed.
5. What accounting software do you use?
I work with QuickBooks Online. If you already have a system in place, I can usually work within it. If you don't, I'll help you choose and set up the right one.
6. How much do your services cost?
Pricing is based on your transaction volume, number of accounts, and complexity. Add-on services are available for additional fees. I offer flat monthly packages, so you always know your cost up front. Contact me for a free quote.
7. My books are behind or a mess. Can you help?
Yes. Many clients start with catch-up or clean-up work. I'll review where things stand, bring your records up to date, correct any errors, and keep everything current from there.
8. How often will I receive financial reports?
You'll receive monthly reports, including a profit and loss statement and balance sheet, between the 15th and 20th of the following month. I'm also happy to walk you through the numbers so you understand what they mean for your business.
9. How do you keep my financial information secure?
Your information is kept strictly confidential. I use password-protected software and secure document portals, and I never share your data without your permission.
10. How do I get started?
Reach out by phone, email, or the contact form to schedule a free consultation. I'll talk through your business and what you need, and I'll follow up with a proposal. Once you approve it, I'll handle the setup.
